WOMEN IN TRANSITION SUPPORT - WITS

 

As a result of the rapid increase of incarceration among female offenders, n-ACTION Family Network developed an effective Pre-Release and Post-Release Re-Entry Program.  Our program addresses the need of those incarcerated and empowers them to make better decisions, choices, and take control of their life. 

 

The primary purpose of this program is to seek solutions to help reduce recidivism, promote self-sufficiency, and strengthen the family.  Because it is estimated that 650,000 inmates are released from prison every year and of that number 67% are re-arrested with three years. Therefore,
n-ACTION Family Network has taken a pro-active position to give this population a “Second Chance” and assist them in making a successful transition back to their community.

WITS offer a 16 Week life changing experience.

 

It is structured in a 2   (8 week cycles) format.  It is currently being conducted in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, at the Century Regional Detention Facility, Lynwood, CA.
